We’re partnering with a vertically integrated CPG business poised for significant growth in retail distribution. The business is seeking a Controller to lead the financial control function across its US and international segments, ensuring the integrity of financial data, alignment of global accounting practices, and optimization of cash flow and working capital.

This is a high-impact role that blends technical financial leadership with hands-on process improvement. You’ll lead an accounting team, manage financial reporting and compliance for a >$100M operation, and partner across domestic and global finance teams to harmonize business processes and strengthen internal controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct month-end close activities including journal entries, variance analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

  • Manage the full lifecycle of CAPEX accounting, including fixed asset reporting, and capital project reconciliations.

  • Oversee operational finance deliverables: cash flow forecasting, aging reports, inventory valuation, and working capital management.

  • Supervise AP/AR, inventory accounting, and grower services accounting functions to maintain compliance and support operational needs.

  • Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring SOX-aligned internal controls and full compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and all regulatory requirements.

  • Own preparation and filing of income, sales/use, and property taxes with external tax providers.

  • Develop and maintain detailed SOPs for all accounting processes and ensure team adherence.

  • Lead, mentor, and evaluate accounting team members while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with international teams to align reporting standards, harmonize processes, and drive global financial integration initiatives.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing, agricultural, or CPG environment.

  • Proven ability to manage multi-entity financial reporting in a $100M+ business with a complex ownership structure.

  • Deep understanding of GAAP with demonstrated success in audit preparation and regulatory reporting.

  • Strong ERP and Excel capabilities, with a track record of optimizing systems and leveraging data for decision support.

  • Experience driving process improvements in internal controls, cash management, and risk mitigation.

  • Excellent analytical skills, high attention to detail, and intellectual curiosity.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
