BY 3P Partners | November 5, 2021

Framing The Search Assignment

Position: Chief Operating Officer

Client: A Multi-State Family-Owned and Operated Produce Company

The Challenge

A large-scale, family-owned produce company created a Chief Operating Officer position as part of their succession plan. This newly created role will oversee the farming, planting, harvesting, and cooling operations for a diverse, multi-state operation.

The COO will be charged with building a world class team, and developing rigor around budgeting, planning, resource allocation, water management, regulatory compliance, food safety and worker safety.

The business sought a seasoned produce executive with a track record of adding value at a comparable company while maintaining a productive and profitable operation.

The Solution

3P Partners presented a shortlist within one week and the successful candidate was offered the position a month later. The new COO is a local candidate with 25+ years of experience in agriculture operations and business administration. This individual was highly regarded for their strategic thinking, project management, and team building skills, which has translated to growth and profit at prior companies.
