The Challenge

The largest kiwi fruit, navel, and mandarin orange grower/shipper in North America required an Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager to partner with cross-functional stakeholders to drive margin enhancements and improve operational efficiency in the citrus division.

The challenge was in finding a candidate with a background in operations finance within permanent tree crops who also understood the complexity of retail pricing for commodity-based food products.

This candidate was selected for their experience partnering with harvest, packing, and sales teams to develop standardized weekly reports on pricing, volume, and utilization for the company’s citrus portfolio. He stood out for his experience aggregating large data sets from multiple data sources and solving complex inventory issues. This candidate holds a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Systems Management with a Minor in Agribusiness from Cal Poly.
