Title: Data Engineer
Location: Onsite position in the Greater Sacramento, CA area
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to design and optimize data pipelines, develop interactive Power BI dashboards, and support data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role involves maintaining data architectures, managing ETL processes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy, security, and performance. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in SQL, Python, and Power BI, with a strong background in data modeling, warehousing, and integration. This is a hands-on role with the opportunity to shape the company’s data infrastructure as the business scales.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines for collecting, processing, and analyzing large datasets.
- Develop and maintain data architectures (databases, data lakes, data warehouses).
- Design and develop interactive Power BI dashboards and reports to visualize key business metrics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, quality, and supply chain, to understand data visualization needs and deliver effective solutions.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data systems.
- Monitor data performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Automate data processes to increase efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Document data workflows, processes, and architecture diagrams.
- Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
- Experience creating and modeling a Data Warehouse from multiple data sources
- Proficient in SQL, Python, or other relevant programming languages.
- Extensive experience with Power BI, including data modeling and report development. Experience with DAX studio is a plus.
- Experience working with ERP databases is a plus
- Experience with data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
- Familiarity with ETL tools and data pipeline frameworks.
- Strong understanding of database management and data security principles.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial setting is a plus.
Salary range: $120-140K base salary
