As the Global Senior Director of Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA), you will lead the development and execution of world-class food safety and quality systems across a global network of manufacturing and supply chain facilities.

 

 

About the Role

This leadership position will champion a culture of food safety excellence while ensuring full compliance with international regulatory standards, customer requirements, and internal policies. You will drive harmonization of practices across sites, oversee audit preparedness, and serve as the senior FSQA advisor to executive leadership.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute a global food safety and quality vision aligned with strategic business goals.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across diverse FSQ systems.
  • Oversee and develop a global FSQA team; hire and mentor as the business grows.
  • Act as senior FSQA subject matter expert for internal leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Own the global audit strategy, including third-party and regulatory audits.
  • Ensure alignment with international food safety regulations (e.g., FDA, FSMA, EFSA, Codex).
  • Monitor emerging risks and update FSQA policies accordingly.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Operations, Procurement, and Supply Chain.
  • Serve as the primary FSQA liaison to key customers.

 

 

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of FSQA or regulatory experience, including 5+ years in global senior leadership.
  • Bachelor’s in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred).
  • Proven success in food manufacturing environments— ingredient, or CPG sector preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of HACCP, GFSI/BRCGS, GMP, and global regulatory standards.
  • Experience with vertically integrated supply chains is a plus.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
