The IT Manager will play a critical role in aligning technology initiatives with long-term business goals, managing infrastructure, and developing a strategic hardware lifecycle plan. This individual will oversee asset tracking, document IT services, and prepare the organization for future cloud migration. The ideal candidate will ensure the stability, security, and scalability of our IT systems while aligning infrastructure capabilities with business needs Additionally, the IT Manager will lead and grow the IT team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement to support business scalability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Infrastructure Management
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including servers, DAS, and cloud systems (e.g., Microsoft 365).
- Implement and maintain network solutions, including wireless backhaul installations, Layer 3 switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Ensure infrastructure systems meet business requirements for availability, performance, and reliability.
- Manage hardware/software upgrades, patch management, and system integrations.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Monitor and optimize system performance, capacity, and costs.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of IT professionals.
- Assign and prioritize tasks to ensure timely project completion and issue resolution.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance reviews and identify training and development needs.
- Ensure adherence to best practices and maintain high service standards.
Security and Compliance
- Ensure IT system security through firewalls, access controls, and security services.
- Regularly review and update IT policies and procedures to align with cybersecurity insurance requirements.
- Conduct security audits and implement system improvements.
- Monitor and maintain cybersecurity measures to protect against evolving threats.
Strategic Planning
- Develop and implement an IT infrastructure strategy aligned with organizational goals, E.G, Cloud readiness.
- Research and recommend new technologies to enhance operations and efficiency.
- Prepare and manage the IT infrastructure budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
- Manage relationships with MSPs, hardware/software vendors, and service providers.
- Negotiate contracts and oversee procurement processes.
Collaboration and Support
- Serve as the escalation point for complex infrastructure issues, providing advanced troubleshooting support.
- Ensure seamless IT support across the organization with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service to end-users.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure management, including hands-on experience with servers, networking, data storage, and cloud technologies.
- Proven leadership and team management experience.
- Proficiency with virtualization platforms (e.g., vSphere, Hyper-V) and cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols, firewalls, and security best practices.
- Strong knowledge in Microsoft Server Management.
- Experience with monitoring tools, ITIL processes, and disaster recovery planning.
