Client: A $1.5b food & beverage processor in Michigan

The Challenge

The 3P Partners team has worked with this business for over 7 years. They required a CFO to manage a 20+ person team and partner with the CEO and board of directors to develop a strategic plan focused on market expansion, product development, and M&A.

The challenge was finding a candidate to oversee FP&A, Accounting, Treasury, IT, and Risk Management functions while assessing network capacity and implementing major capital projects. This person would need the composure and confidence to present monthly financials to a large cooperative Board of Directors and external lenders as well as the analytical skills to prepare business case analyses for the leadership team.

3P Partners headhunted and placed a highly qualified, local candidate who was selected for his experience building a corporate strategy in collaboration with executive leadership and his involvement in M&A post-transaction integrations at his prior company.

The candidate spent the last 13+ years in progressive FP&A and divisional leadership positions at a $2b family-owned, vertically integrated agribusiness. He led M&A activities, established a joint venture operating company, and built FP&A, Corporate Development, Farm Finance, Accounting, and Supply Chain teams.
