A large, vertically integrated business in Florida is seeking a Vice President of Information Technology (VP of IT) to lead the strategic planning, execution, and modernization of its IT ecosystem. This executive will align technology initiatives with business objectives, drive digital transformation, and ensure security, efficiency, and scalability across all IT functions.

The VP of IT will play a critical role in transitioning from legacy systems to a modern, cloud-first infrastructure, optimizing business applications, and enabling data-driven decision-making. A key responsibility will be building and leading a high-performing IT organization that can scale with the company’s continued growth.
 

Position Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Technology Modernization

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with long-term business goals
  • Lead enterprise system modernization, including cloud migrations, ERP transformation (D365), and business application integration
  • Maintain a cybersecurity-first approach to ensure governance, compliance, and risk management
  • Partner with executive leadership to identify opportunities where technology drives efficiency, growth, and innovation

IT Operations & Digital Transformation

  • Oversee maintenance, security, and optimization of IT infrastructure to ensure operational stability
  • Drive data governance and analytics initiatives to support real-time business decision-making
  • Lead organizational change management to ensure effective technology adoption
  • Promote continuous improvement using Lean, Agile, and DevOps methodologies

Team Assessment, Leadership & Development

  • Evaluate current IT team structure and capabilities, identifying areas for growth and improvement
  • Develop and execute a workforce strategy to align talent with business needs
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop IT talent to build a high-performing organization
  • Foster a collaborative, innovative, and results-driven culture that aligns with business priorities
  • Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and performance metrics for accountability and excellence

Key Qualifications

Technical & Strategic Expertise

  • 15+ years of progressive IT leadership, with expertise in digital transformation, cloud adoption, and enterprise systems
  • Proven experience managing complex environments including ERP (D365), CRM, data analytics, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and compliance standards (SOC2, NIST, ISO 27001)
  • Experience with business process automation, AI-driven insights, and IT service management
  • Background in agriculture, manufacturing, real estate, or home building industries is a plus

Leadership & Business Acumen

  • Executive leadership with a strong ability to align IT strategy with business goals
  • Demonstrated success in assessing, restructuring, and scaling IT teams
  • Proven ability to lead change in organizations transitioning from legacy systems to modern solutions
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to turn complex IT challenges into business opportunities

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field required
  • MBA or Master’s degree in IT, Business, or a related field strongly preferred
  • Relevant industry certifications (Lean Six Sigma, ITIL, CISSP, PMP, or cloud certifications) are a plus
