Job Description:

We’re seeking an experienced VP of Information Technology to oversee IT strategy, security, and data management for multiple entities. Key responsibilities include:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and implement IT strategies aligned with agricultural industry needs.
  • Collaborate with executives to support company growth and innovation in agriculture.

IT Systems Management:

  • Oversee design, implementation, and maintenance of robust IT systems.
  • Enhance efficiency, scalability, and reliability of IT infrastructure.

Technology Infrastructure:

  • Ensure robust and scalable IT infrastructure including hardware, networks, and storage.
  • Maintain availability, security, and performance to meet business requirements.

Cyber Security:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive cyber security strategy.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging threats for proactive risk management.

Data Management & Governance:

  • Establish and enforce data management policies ensuring accuracy and integrity.
  • Develop and maintain data governance frameworks tailored to agriculture.

Data Pipelines & Snowflake Environment:

  • Design and implement efficient data pipelines for seamless operations.
  • Manage Snowflake environment for high performance analytics tailored to agriculture.

Modern Data Stack & Tools Integration:

  • Lead adoption of modern data stack tools relevant to agriculture.
  • Tools include Github, DBT, Fivetran, Google VMs, PowerBI, and Snowflake.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Build and lead high-performing IT team, fostering collaboration and innovation.
  • Provide mentorship and development opportunities for team members.

Vendor Management:

  • Evaluate and manage vendor relationships ensuring alignment with industry standards.
  • Optimize vendor footprint for efficiency and value.

Compliance & Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with agriculture-specific regulations and standards.
  • Identify and mitigate IT-related risks through proactive management.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience of progressive IT leadership experience, with a track record of success in managing IT systems, cyber security, physical security, data management, data pipelines, Snowflake environment, and modern data stack.
  • Strong understanding of emerging technologies and their potential impact on agriculture operations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans that align with organizational goals.
  • Ability to travel to multi-state locations up to 10% of the time.
