Position: Vice President of Operations
Client: $300MM AUM farmland asset manager
The Challenge
A fast-growing agricultural investment manager and farming company with an incredible culture, broad geographical footprint, and a diverse workforce required a Vice President of Operations to architect the scale of their business by 3x in the next 24 months.
This was a newly created position at a company that has invested heavily in cutting-edge technology and their employees — offering their farm workers a starting wage of $20 p/hr., fully paid healthcare, retirement, and parental leave. These strategies have allowed them to generate double-digit returns on investors’ capital.
The challenge was in finding a candidate to act as a strategic partner to the CEO through the acquisition and integration of new acreage while hiring, coaching, engaging, and retaining a rapidly expanding hourly workforce.
The Solution

The successful candidate had 16 years of experience in food safety, quality, warehouse, and operations. She was the vice president of fulfillment of a meal kit business that scaled by >227%, adding 1,000+ hourly workers within four years.
